Exhibiting Orbit No:1 on Plywood at Dalkeith Palace This exhibition celebrates 100 years since VAS was established in 1924 and follows the successful 4 star exhibition, Then and Now: 100 Years Of Visual Arts Scotland (Part One) that took place in Edinburgh’s Royal Scottish Academy earlier this year. Now and Then: Dalkeith Palace (Part Two) will showcase artists from Scotland and beyond, exhibiting a breadth of disciplines across the sprawling 17 room exhibition, including painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, installation, and jewellery. The exhibition will run from Saturday 17th - Sunday 25th August 2024 and will be open daily from 10am - 4pm with free access. Dalkeith Palace is located half an hour outside of Edinburgh and the exhibition expects to reach a global audience as it aligns with the city’s busy festival period.

    Robin Sprong Wallcovering Collaboration

    Robin Sprong Wallcovering Collaboration

We have teamed up with Robin Sprong Wallcoverings in South Africa to license our mural wallpaper is collection. The ‘Calendar’ collection is inspired by the work of Jean-Pierre Vitrac exploring imbroglio shapes adding rhythm and colour to interior spaces. Each design is based around a square tile format made up of 8 individual shapes mirroring the lunar cycle. The contemporary colour palettes hail the Summer of 1951 and the festival of Britain 70 years ago. Vitrac’s iconic design aesthetics are echoed throughout this collection, playful shapes and sweeping curves are juxtaposed and offset by the tile format with architectural forms and repeating shapes throughout. The collection includes five chromatic families where neutral colour backgrounds sit amongst warmer, brighter shades. Within each of these families, there are four complimentary palettes.

    More Collages

Circle Collage. Recycled artwork - original digital work once printed is cut using a compass cutter. Occasionally during the digital printing process the printer can error mid way through a print rendering the output unusable. Rather than waste the ink and paper I save it to make into unique collages. Although similar in style no two collages will be the same.

    What we do!

    What we do!

Giclée Printing - it’s what we do….. Many galleries and other artists don’t consider Giclée printing as an original form of artist printing and here’s why: A giclée print is a term for an ‘inkjet’ print. It derives its name from the French verb for ‘squirt, spurt or spray’, as generally giclée prints are produced with an inkjet printer (where the ink ‘spurts’ through a nozzle). You will often come across “limited edition giclée” copies of paintings and prints –  it’s always worth remembering that these are reproductions – not originals. However, there are a number of artists producing work for which the digital print IS the finished result – and that’s US! For us it’s simple, we define all of our prints as an original artwork that has been printed by us.  It is not a reproduction or printed on our behalf. We have choosen the paper that the image is printed on and have determined the dimensions and edition size of the print (the number of copies printed). Once printed we then number and sign each of the prints. Once we have sold all the editions of a particular print we can not and will not print anymore. Rest assured, if you buy from us you are purchasing an original Limited Edition piece of Art, enjoy!

    NHS Forth Valley Commission

    NHS Forth Valley Commission

NHS FORTH VALLEY COMMISSION MAJOR ART PROJECT COMPLETED AT STIRLING HEALTH AND CARE VILLAGE The finishing strokes have now been applied to a major arts project stretching across two buildings at the Stirling Health and Care Village – the GP and Minor Injuries Centre and the Bellfield Rehabilitation Centre. Leigh Bagley, a contemporary textile and pattern designer has just completed a broad canvas including art walls, a suite of prints and additional 3D works, all with a focus on emotional health and wellbeing. The first stage of the project involved the design and installation of nineteen new art walls and three large scale murals in the Bellfield Centre. These high impact and decorative interiors evoke freshness, wellness and familiarity to the corridors, giving a sense of emotional comfort through colour. During the design process Leigh aimed to create environments that are both uplifting and soothing, which in turn aid in decreasing frustration and boredom in people with dementia. For the second strand of the project, Leigh curated a contemporary collection of Limited Edition prints housed within the Healthcare village buildings. These artworks compliment the aesthetic narrative of the mural and art wall spaces creating a visual dialogue as patients, staff and visitors navigate the interior. The artworks feature a variety of top artists and print designers including Scott Campbell, Diane Bresson, Rory Strudwick, Kitty McCall, Simon C Page, Ryan Hughes, Kevin Cleary, Hey Studio and many more. A graduate of the renowned Royal College of Art in London, Leigh set up his textiles design studio in 2012 retailing as Limited Edition artwork. Of his work in the Health and Care Village he says: “Through a highly contemporary approach I hope I have demonstrated how pattern, print and colour can be transformative and uplifting for both patients and visitors, challenging traditional approaches to art for public healthcare buildings. I directly take influence from everyday surroundings and a love of modernist and abstract aesthetics. Leigh is also a lecturer at the Glasgow School of Art, imparting his love of pattern and colour which enables him to share his knowledge for the benefit of future designers and makers.

    Newmor Wallcoverings Collaboration

    Newmor Wallcoverings Collaboration

Newmor Wallcoverings is committed to bridging the gap between artists and commercial interiors. We’re always on the look out for unique and innovative designs to offer our clients. We saw Leigh’s work with the NHS and we knew the large scale curved geometrics and dynamic colour palettes would work really well in our market. Geometrics have been a big part of our collection for a number of years now, and Leigh’s sweeping curves and arches add a contemporary twist to the look. The designs lend themselves perfectly to being recoloured, they look great printed onto any of our base materials and they make a huge impact on window film too.”
