Dogdum ensuing: Practising practicing nativity role's inspirational for Hector sculptures...

Ted, springer spaniel come wannabe human, has had mid life discovery that blankets, garments, and feather (lets be clear here: FEATHER) duvets are a luxurious move from the (albeit comfy) dog bed. Couple this with his desire to be of absolute importance in hanging out the washing and the fact these garments can become THE STRANGEST of mazes, Ted's one spaniel whom never fails to inspire my Hector sculptures! There's just something so sweet about a dog snuggling himself playfully or sleepily under clothes and blankets etc! Next Hector, Pup, Robin on wash day sculpture to be uploaded for #SculptureSunday 27th November...

    Silver lining of heritage!

    Silver lining of heritage!

Feels miraculous; but the Kingsdown coast torrential rain has buggered off and left an attempt at "less grey".! And what's a great version of grey? Silver! And a sumptuous type of silver i hear you ask - why yes; today i'm perfecting a silver leafed MINI Hector (produces an incredible shine!), though eager for him to have a somewhat 'vintage' heritage-look finish. No disasters yet... Bar accidentally silver leafing Super Ted (actual dog)'s nose when he was nuzzling his support... This image is this morning's classic unimpressed-i'm-not-the-centre-of-attention Ted...

    Nectar of a silver Hector!

    Nectar of a silver Hector!

Really chuffed with initial reactions to gilded to Hector #1 - thanks so much everyone! On yet another torrential rainy day, it's great to receive such encouragement on sculpted Hector. For a split second this morning, the sun broke through our seaside cloud and sparked a huge line of silver, so in high spirits, I've opted for a silver sculpture as today's addition to the Christmas Hector collection. Once his i's are dotted and t's crossed, Silver Christmas Hector will find his way to my store... And so the Hector clan will be begin! :)

    And we're away! Hallo Hector!

    And we're away! Hallo Hector!

Christmas Hector collection launched with Hector #1 ! Really excited to get first hector up; planning on bringing in new Hector's (near to) each day if possible. Already gilding new, smaller dogs in silver leaf, and other styles (species) etc... Loving how versatile Hector is! This image, is 3 hectors together; hector 1 (middle sculpture) is up and live and the others will shortly follow suit...

    And it's a wrap!

    And it's a wrap!

...Because every Hector deserves more than the dregs of bubble-wrap, and i'm loving sculpting stuff as little 'extras' for my supporting buyers! Having fun on this torrential-rain day playing around with different packing designs. Reached conclusion that every Hector definitely needs to presented as though he were the actual present! Also, want those buying my artworks to have something to a) look forward to b) keep forever. In such, i'm making bespoke 'Hector & Robin' tags with a bespoke, handmade sculpted resin robin (in a nice cornflower blue shade i think) to be sent out with each one... (planning on including a gold coloured metal ring (seen in pic) for ease of hanging...because every Hector is designed to create a smile (not a frown with awkward christmas deco hooks!).... **Hector's imminence to artfinder upload's very exciting!**

Hector's on his way! Last step before packaging...

Hector's on his way! Last step before packaging...

Very happy to relay that on this grey kent coast day, I'm thoroughly enjoying messing around with gold leaf and gilding choices for my Christmas Hector collection. Using my somewhat battered Hector and poor things beginning to look a bit worse for wear for his guinea pig status! Lots of colours to choose from outside gilding - currently thinking a christmas hector with a floppy hat might have to be upcoming sculpture, though next step definitely needs to be packaging for Christmas Hector, who'll soon be up for purchase in my shop...

Getting in the mood for christmas!

Getting in the mood for christmas!

This year xmas is going to be a little different! My beloved honoury human of a spaniel, Gordon, recently passed away and Ted, my daughter's spaniel has seemingly received his mantle loud and clear! He knows me as " Where's Father" and Gordon's death being so very difficult, it would seem Ted's been trying at all times, to ensure both myself and my wife ('Mother 2") are handling our grief without implosion. He's since perfected the affectionate 'Ted Torpedo' (that is, Ted-meets-human with furry forceful bump, warm tongue, and wagging-tail capable of culling crops) and has that uncanny ability of comfort-blanketing! So in absolute honour to the dog of dogs, Gordon, and in recognition of Super Ted; dogs are at the centre of this years Xmas! I'm excited to relay, that it's taken lord knows how many 'first attempts' to get used to ensure a robust Hector (and hanging hook!), but think i'm almost there! Me restoring porcelain

    Me restoring porcelain

Me restoring other peoples' porcelain when I had hair and youth on my side :) Whilst I enjoyed the restoration business I longed for the opportunity to create my own pieces so have now got the chance to explore my creativity with no boundaries.
