  • Winter Sketches: Waiting for Spring

    Through this series, I aimed to remind myself that winter, with its gray and gloomy days, is not eternal; the promise of spring and its vibrant blooms will inevitably arrive. This series includes small sketches of flowers, drawn as if catching a fleeting impression. Additionally, some sheets incorporate typographic elements and the producer’s logo, enhancing the notion of transience and contributing to the feeling of an artist's diary. This series invites to reflect on the cyclical nature of seasons and the beauty that often lies just beneath the surface, waiting to be uncovered.

    This year, my brush has danced with watercolors, blooming into a vibrant garden of flowers. Thank you, 2024, for the inspiration and the opportunity to paint.     Good news, friends! The book for which I painted watercolor illustrations was published, "The Best Time", by Marina Romanovich. The book is a literary diary of the author's life path, and its concept says that the best time is now. Always just now. Everything else is the treasures of our memory, but this is already the past. The book contains 22 of my watercolor paintings - 11 large per page and 11 small ones that complement the text. Works from this series are available for purchase, you can find them in the shop section "Book Best Time"

    About our new reality...

    Dear friends, my shop is open again! I'm now in Kyiv and have the opportunity to send all orders as quickly as possible. In my works, I always strive to convey the light of this world, its harmony and beauty. And I don't want to talk about the war... I really hope that looking at my paintings, your heart will rejoice. I also added to many works the possibility to order limited edition prints. They are printed on paper very similar to watercolor paper. May my creativity be closer to each of you, may there be more beauty and light in the world! And I am grateful for all your attention to my work, for your purchases and likes - this is a great support for me in this difficult time!

    All works are signed and dated on the back and front. A certificate of authenticity is attached. The painting is wrapped in a special protective tracing paper, carefully packed in strong packaging, cardboard and cellophane.

    In the spring of 2019, I was invited to give a master class as part of an exhibition of botanical art in the Kiev Botanical Garden. Of course, I am not working in the style of classical botanical art. The theme of my demo was how to transform a flower image based on photoreference to convey emotion and your vision, not just the authentic look of the plant.

    My lessons at the school "Fantasy room"

    My lessons at the school "Fantasy room"

    During 2017-2018 I taught watercolor sketching at the international school "Fantasy room". I had small groups of 5-12 students and with each group we went through 8 different stories and topics. Newcomers often came to my lessons and my task was to make them fall in love with watercolor, as well as teach a variety of basic techniques so that in the future a person could reveal himself in creativity, and not only imitate my watercolor style. The photo on the left shows the work of my students, on the photo on the right - the atmosphere of the studio :)

    At this exhibition I presented new colors in the watercolor palette "Van Gogh" by Royal Talens. It was an amazing experience! I showed the features of my painting technique, and talked about new colors and how they can be used in artwork. In the foreground of the photo, you can see a sketchbook of my watercolors. Flowers and architecture are my two favorite themes!
