About Kristina Saudinyte

  • Biography
I have been privileged to grow up surrounded by nature - blessed with possibility to watch seasons change, notice the beauty each of them brings. Being in the presence of The Great Creator not only formed me as a person, but also as an artist. As a result, all sorts of nature's creatures started entering my canvases - badgers and rats, goats, squirrels, monkeys - you name it! They are all there , 'spoiling' my perfectly white canvases with their strong and vivid colors.
The connection between humans and nature is my favorite subject to analyze in my paintings. I think it is the most important and meaningful relationship that we can not escape and we should not want to.
My creative process consists of 'borrowing' some shapes and lines from Mother nature and transforming them into simpler , more geometric looking ones.
I do acrylic painting mostly, because I find that it lets me express myself best. It dries quickly, which gives me the freedom of experimentation. I always start my painting with a sketch. Than I  fill it with the colors following my vision. Although, very often the final result  differs from my original vision.
