About Katya Timoshenko

  • Biography

I am a multimedia artist based in London, drawn to exploring new techniques and storytelling through my work. In recent years, my focus has shifted to printmaking, which now forms the core of my practice. As an Associate Member (ARE) of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers since 2022, I am passionate about the tactile nature of printmaking and the experimental opportunities it offers.

My work also includes painting on glass, creating two- and three-dimensional sculptures inspired by seventeenth-century iconography. These historical influences resonate deeply with my practice, blending tradition with contemporary artistic exploration. Themes in my work often reflect personal introspection, exploring conflicts with my alter ego, while also drawing inspiration from Ukrainian folk traditions and philosophical fables.

Being part of Art Finder has given me the opportunity to connect with a global art-loving audience and share my storytelling approach with those who value meaningful, personal connections in art. It has also helped me to grow my online presence and continue developing my independent art practice within a supportive worldwide community.

Event: Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2022

    Dates: 21 Jun 2022 - 21 Aug 2022

Venue: Royal Academy of Arts, Picadilly, London

Summer at the RA is not just a time of year, it’s the world’s most joyful art experience. Run without interruption since 1769, the Summer Exhibition showcases art in all forms, from prints, painting, film and photography, to architectural works and sculpture by invited artists, Royal Academicians and emerging talent.

After two years in winter, it’s back where it should be. The theme chosen by the exhibition’s coordinator, Alison Wilding RA, is ‘Climate’. Whether as a crisis or opportunity, or simply our everyday experience, it is an all-embracing subject.

Whether you’re an experience seeker, a budding art collector or a culture-craving family, we know you’ll find the art for you: the exhibition features two rooms of prints selected by Grayson Perry RA, a structure made of elephant dung bricks, and new work by the Singh Twins. Outside this year is a large-scale immersive installation bringing nature and water to the courtyard, by Spanish artist Cristina Iglesias.
