About Katia Ricci

  • Biography
I am an oil painter living on the Adriatic coast of Italy. I am inspired by the everyday things I see around me and I try to capture the essence of color and its combinations in my work. I believe that color is the foundation of art and that it can be found everywhere, if we only take the time to appreciate its ever-changing beauty. My favorite place is near my easel, where my heart beats with a special rhythm. My main subjects are flowers, birds, landscapes, seascapes, food, animals but I also occasionally explore portraiture. All of my paintings are signed with my surname, Iourashevich (I am Belarusian born) and Ricci is my husband's surname and my art pseudonym. "There is something healing and contemplative about creating art. Art is less about what we feel to make as artists and more of what it makes of us."
