Drawing is the direct connection between the imagination and the real world. Since the first known drawings found in primitive caves, as a medium of expression, it has been connected to the history of humankind. The genesis of writing can be also traced to the action of drawing.
The practical use of drawing permeates multiple creating disciplines. Architecture, design, music, medicine, sculpture, painting, among others, are in direct connection to drawing. In art history, drawing evolved to establish itself as a finished work of art away from its humble function as a sketch to be part of the creative process. With this first LICA online drawing exhibition, I want to present the viewers with different approaches to the discipline of drawing which would be also suitable to be shown on a virtual platform.

Biography
Kathy Ferguson, a mixed media artist living in New York City, paints colorful abstract landscapes that are whimsical, richly layered and complex. Her paintings combine geometric and organic shapes to create imaginary landscapes with unique inhabitants that explore the human narrative. Her paintings have been exhibited in galleries coast to coast, including the National Association of Women Artists Gallery in New York City and the Verum Ultimum Gallery in Portland, Oregon. Kathy’s work is held in many private and corporate collections including the Four Seasons Hotel, the New York Plaza Hotel, the Boston Childrens' Hospital, and the Belmond Grand Hotel in St. Petersburg, Russia.
