About Kathrin Marchenko

  • Biography
Creating art is my way of bringing organized chaos to life through a unique combination of thread shades. I prefer working with tulle, as its transparency adds depth and volume to the embroidery, making each piece visually rich. My creative process is spontaneous yet deliberate. I rarely make sketches before starting; inspiration comes in the form of specific images, like an eye or a fish, and I begin by creating contours. I’m drawn to bright, vibrant colors and enjoy harmonizing them into a cohesive palette. I find inspiration in the success of others, particularly when witnessing an artist’s journey from idea to completion. This creative progression is a powerful motivator for my own work. Films, books, and exhibitions also play a significant role in fueling my desire to create. My journey into embroidery began in 2016, inspired by embroidered dresses from designers like Valentino and Elie Saab. In 2017, I attended Ecole Lesage in Paris, where I learned Luneville embroidery, a technique that continues to influence my work. I want to sell my art on ArtFinder because it allows me to reach an audience that appreciates unique, intricate creations. It’s important to me that my work resonates emotionally with those who seek to surround themselves with meaningful art.
