About Katherine Spiller

 
 
  • Biography
    Katherine is a Queensland based artist who trained in Fine Arts and Art History at Elam School of Fine Arts and Auckland University and Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London. Following this Katherine managed art galleries in the UK and New Zealand, before moving to Sydney where she worked for Sculpture by the Sea in Sydney and Perth, which included curation of the indoor sculpture show. 

    Katherine’s work is held in collections in Australia, New Zealand,  USA and Canada.  

    Katherine’s works explore the play of colour as she builds layers of marks to create depth and movement. Her inspiration comes from her immediate environment, from the joyful chaos of family life to the calming light flickering on the ocean waters of Australia’s Sunshine Coast.
