Biography
What I love about painting is catching the light whether it be a reflection or contrast of light and shade. There is a great joy in adding the final highlights when the painting comes alive.
When doing a landscape I like to use ink and watercolours. I particularly enjoy the challenge of perspective, living in Italy in for a number of years gave me a love of old buildings with "wonky" walls and domes.
I use oils for still life, nature and portraits and I love the slow process of building the picture, of blending and layering to get the end result.
