About Julija Usoniene
Biography
I'm Julija, a seascape and landscape artist based in Germany. After graduating a university with a bachelor’s degree in History and Theory of Arts in Lithuania, I've moved to Germany.
My passion to paint started in early childhood and was a big part of my life in High school.
I got back to art when I moved to a Spanish island – Fuerteventura after spending 5 years in Germany. This peaceful and beautiful island in the Atlantic Ocean helped me to discover myself again, I understood, what I was missing and searching all the time – feeling of self-fulfillment through creation. Living on the island I started selling my paintings in artist’s markets and fairs. I have forgotten all the fears and decided to follow my dream – to become an artist.
The thing that inspires my art the most is the ocean. I have always felt a strong attraction to be close to the water and especially the sea. I believe in healing and calming effects of the water. However not everyone has a possibility to live by the ocean. In my work I try to capture this feeling of happiness and peacefulness while being by the sea, so what everyone could have a small piece of the ocean at their home.
After spending almost one year in Fuerteventura, I returned to Germany where I am currently living and creating dreamy, delicate seascapes and landscapes.
