About Julie Wishmeyer

  • Biography
I love the tactile sensation of working with objects and taking in an array of images at once. I've lived in the city and grew up in home with antiques. I learned a lot about design and art appreciation by looking at vintage art cards from museums. Looking at the objects in our home helped me appreciate the importance of things you live with in your environment.  My art connects the dots through many mediums and levels of achievement. I feel a need to connect the sculptural world I inhabit and bring my discoveries into mixed media collage works. Being an artist is a state of remaining curious and endless quest.I like an element of surprise and really enjoy collage for its spontaneity and break with reality.
