About Julie Robertson MA

  • Biography
Thank you for looking at my work!
I am shortly to show an artwork at the ‘Fresh’ exhibition at THG in Honiton a group show with DAN

I work in different genres so I am what they call a multidisciplinary artist.

I like bold colours when using paint and I enjoy using shadow in my sculpture, which often has meant using white materials or painting my work white.

Related to Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, I have been producing artwork for over 50 years. I enjoy producing Sculpture, and from time to time I dip a toe into vibrant and colourful canvases and digital fine art  photography.

Colour and texture feature prominently in my 2D work and I often produce work which has a sculptural qualities, using thick impasto style, to raise the paint or other materials from the surface of the canvas.

Currently producing abstract acrylic work, I love the way that customers see and experience elements in these pieces that resonates with them. It is the beauty of this type of artwork that they afford different kinds of interpretation.

During many moves around Britain, including four years in Scotland. I studied to degree level and recently achieved MA with commendation in Birmingham, which had been a dream to achieve.
