About Jo Starkey

  • Biography

I am a professional landscape and floral artist based in Sussex.  My work is inspired by my love for nature, and the beautiful English countryside.

I work in acrylics and mixed media, using a layering process, to create a richness and depth to my work.  I love to play with colour which can change the dynamics of a natural scene, giving it a new lease of life and a contemporary edge.  I sometimes infuse my work with metallics, which creates a lovely shimmer when it catches the light, this particularly lends itself to my meadow paintings, with textured metallic grasses.

I work from my studio in East Sussex, and I supply my work to galleries all over the UK and abroad, including Clarendon Fine Art galleries.
