About John Tregembo
Biography
I grew up with the Atlantic Ocean on my doorstep so it comes as no surprise that this has influenced me heavily as I progressed in my artists' career, painting from a very early age. My interest lies chiefly in trying to interpret and represent the wildness and unpredictability of the sea, Working in Oils and Acrylics I start with an idea and evolve the work from this.
My work has been exhibited widely across the UK and I have been fortunate to be graciously collected by an ever-growing band of patrons. The main gallery representing me in Cornwall is the Fowey River Gallery,
which has an enviable reputation for fine and exciting work from some of the most successful painters in Cornwall. I am also represented at the Saffron Walden Gallery, Cambridge.
I have been a full-time painter for some 30 years now and love every minute of it, even getting wet in the rain, watching several hours of work run down the canvas.
