About Janice MacDougall

  • Biography

I am an artist based in County Durham in the North East of England. I sell my work here on Artfinder and other online platforms, I am also represented by Image By Design Art Licensing Agency and have had my artwork licensed for use on greetings cards.

My inspiration comes from the nature and scenery that surrounds me, or little snippets of everyday life,  but also colours and textures. My work is generally very colourful and hopefully makes people feel happy.

I like to take photo's and do sketches when I'm out and about, to use as reference in my paintings. Mostly I work in acrylics or watercolours, sometimes using collaged elements in my work.  I also work with textiles to produce one off pieces of textile art, using hand made felt and recycled fabrics, which are embellished with hand and machine embroidery..

Thank you for stopping by my store. *** If you wish to buy more than one painting, please message me first then I can combine the postage ***. Also I'm available to do commissions, just use the messaging system here on Artfinder and we can discuss details.
