With vision problems as a child, the doctor told my Mother that I would never be an artist, "Well, you're wrong there!" she said. She knew that I could never stop creating, even if I wanted to. Years at school passed and similar comments came from teachers and other adults, 'art will not pay you a living'. So I studied graphic design at Sheffield, and had a thriving career for 25 years... but the pull was always there like itch that needed scratching, I needed to be creative for me, not for anyone else. So here I am, being an artist, in the face of adversity! How can I be anything else?
