About Jadu Sheridan

  • Biography
Welcome! A self-taught artist, I left primary school teaching to explore my creative side. At the moment I work from my dining room at home and spend my days walking around Worcestershire with my rescue beagle, Betty, then the rest of my time painting (when she lets me!).
I am inspired by nature: trees especially but also wildlife and the seaside when I can get there. My aim is to paint nature and views I love so that the paintings provide a 'window' onto nature even if you don't have the views at home.
I love painting waves and try to portray the feeling of freedom and movement I feel when I am on the beach; even the process of painting waves makes me feel free. Currently I use acrylic for painting and pen and ink for exploring texture in my tree pictures. Inspiration comes from many movements in art: Impressionism, the old masters like Rembrandt and modern artists such as George Shaw and many more! Music is very important to me and I always listen to music loudly - often naming my paintings after songs or lyrics.
