About Iwona Nartowska O'Reilly
Biography
Iwona Nartowska O’Reilly studied art at Stanislaw Wyspianski School of Fine Arts in Jaroslaw, Poland. There she was introduced to drawing and painting in various mainstream, conventional mediums, choosing oil painting in her initial years of artistic career. Later on, in 2003, Iwona became acquainted with the Encaustic medium (ancient technique of creating art using molten, pigmented wax), and decided to explore its potential.
She has worked with pigmented wax on large scale pieces, however lately she concentrates mainly on drawings, which she coats with a layer of clear wax in order to seal them.
