About Irena Heinz

  • Biography

A self-taught painter, influenced by impressionist and expressionist styles, experienced in her studies different kinds of brushes and palette knives with watercolors, oil, and acrylic colors. Oil has become her favorite medium. She is fascinated by the way large brushes leave bizarre marks on the canvas. The result may be very different from her intentions and expectations, but that is a real miracle she every time gets surprised about.

Originally from Russia, she easily finds inspiration while walking through Barcelona or the mountains which surround it. And in general, wherever she travels, she is always inspired by nature and people. She enjoys working outdoors, connecting with nature.

She continues to study works of old and contemporary painters, however, she is trying to find her own way to express her impressions. And actually, there is more than one way. With each piece of canvas, she attempts to discover a new path, to open a new door to the unknown...

Her paintings can look more realistic or more abstract, but in any case, they are vibrant and colorful.
