About Ieuan Edwards

  • Biography

Ieuan is a linocut printmaker. He founded The Black Gold Press in 2012 and alongside fine art prints he has produced work for books, album covers, music merchandise, clothing ranges, homeware and public art. He has exhibited across the UK, Australia and the USA. He is exhibiting in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2022; earlier in the year he was part of the Turner Contemporary Open in Margate and in 2019 was included in the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers "The Masters" exhibition at Bankside Gallery in London.

Each of Ieuan's prints is hand made and cut from a single block of lino. Where more than one colour is used he generally prints the lightest colour first and then cuts into the same block to print the next colour, and so on until the final darkest colour. This means that a cut can never be repeated and the small number of prints in each edition makes these works collectable.

Ieuan uses acid free archival paper and high quality linseed inks.
