About Hilde Søndrol

  • Biography
I find it interesting how we all perceive the same actions and expressions in different ways, based on our personal experiences. To me, art is a way to communicate different expressions and let the audience make their own interpretations and stories. Through my art I want to express what we can not see with our naked eye, feelings we can not put into words and thoughts we do not want to acknowledge us.

The last 10 years I have mostly been working on a painting-series, Atmosphere. Here I find my inspiration in cosmos and astrophysics, and make oil paintings of planets, galaxies, supernova, meteors and other astronomical phenomena. My Atmosphere-paintings are covered with small circles, all painted by hand. These circles is suppose to give an extra dimention to the paintings, but also to visualize all the invisible particles that surrounds us.
