About Henadzy Havartsou

  • Biography

I’m graduated from University of Masherov in Vitebsk, Belarus, defended the master's degree at the Faculty of Painting and Graphics (1987 - 1992). From my teacher and mentor, Valentina Liahovich, I’m received the most important thing - a sense of freedom of creativity.

    Now I live in Poland.

As a person and as an artist, I’m paint a lot from my numerous travels, this is how such diverse landscapes and abstractions are created, inspired by the unique colors of different parts of the world. I’m constantly on the lookout, experimenting with new painting techniques, new colors, shapes. The predominant technique is oil on canvas, made with a spatulas and brushes.  Self-expression in my painting is constantly dependent on changes from within and the formation of my own view of the world, and I believe that this process is endless and develops in parallel with the development of the worldview of the individual.

The best time to work is in the morning, the maximum energy that I can pour onto the canvas. And the inspiration for most abstractions for me is jazz music, when you don’t know what the next note will be. Also in abstract painting. The main thing is to be in a good mood to approach the canvas and make the first stroke. And then the canvas and palette knife dictate the lines, which I either implement or interpret. And this process absorbs me and reflects my inner content and state, which reveals me to myself.

My works are presented in many private collections in Poland, Germany, Switzerland, France, Great Britain, Israel, Luxembourg, Portugal, USA and others.
