“When a vision comes from the thunder beings of the West, it comes with terror like a thunder storm; but when the storm of vision has passed, the world is greener and happier; for wherever the truth of vision comes upon the world, it is like a rain. The world, you see, is happier after the terror of the storm… you have noticed that truth comes into this world with two faces. One is sad with suffering, and the other laughs; but it is the same face, laughing or weeping… as lightning illuminates the dark, for it is the power of lightning that Heyokas have.

Dates: 31 Oct 2013 - 3 Nov 2013
Within the last five years, almost 100,000 visitors came to see artists and galleries from all over the world. Urban Art is now! In fact the huge variety of subcultural dynamics of the last 30 years in this melting pot is self-replicating. Terms such as “Low Brow”, “Illustration”, “Street Art”, “Graffiti”, “Graphic Design” or “Comic Art” are fused with classic notions of art as well as unconventional resources and are newly interpreted in a fresh, innovative and mostly postmodern context. This is art for the 21st century.
The STROKE Art Fair works as a parallel universe to the inflated classical artmarket of the “rich and beautiful”, driven by aggressive investement strategies, auctions houses and the greed for spectacular maximum prices. The goal is to establish an art-entry-market for both: the artist (gallery) and the interested buyer. The STROKE Art Fair presents young, emerging and the most important: affordable art. Beside known contemporary aspects, we set a focus on digital art, design and various other forms of urban lifestyle and culture.
Event: Through the Minds Eye Solo Show
Dates: 1 Sep 2013 - 28 Sep 2013
njecting female energy and emotion into the street art scene, the Curious Duke Gallery are proud to be introducing Hannah Adamaszek's first solo gallery show; “Through the Minds Eye”
Hannah's portraits capture the sense of being, if only for a moment, where the beauty and timelessness of the world come into sharp focus. The women she paints are subtle yet strong, bold yet delicate; balancing these contradictions provide the individuality to each of her pieces. Hannah has been developing her 'simple but complex' pieces, fusing traditional painting techniques with spray paint and lots of drips, bringing gentle but introspective serenity to the stark male dominated Urban Art scene. Hannah was recently quoted: “I think a lot of urban art can be visually sharp - I'm not sure if this is due to the male prevalence or part of its makeup and history but my work definitely brings in a softer female touch with emotion being brought into a sometimes a more aggressive world, making people pause for thought.”
“Through the Minds Eye” will Include large scale statement paintings, alongside smaller canvases and experimental pieces on other mediums. Hannah plays with colour and nature, evoking moods light and dark, day and night - Bringing introspection from the outside in. Central to Hannah's work is emotional grounding- Human perspective within our mercurial worlds. The concept of the show is to depict a story that is interpreted by the beholder. With time and appreciation emotions are conveyed that are beyond language and can only be conveyed through the minds eye. “The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true arts” - Albert Einstein.

With Gastein in Austria the ARt on Snow has found not only a new home but also an ideal partner. The three villages Bad Gastein, Bad Hofgastein and Dorfgastein with their long time art history and corresponding architecture offer perfect conditions and locations for the festival.
The ARt on Snow is a true highlight of Salzburg’s cultural calendar and presents art that people can touch and experience in combination with exhibitions, live painting actions, workshops, parties and much more for a whole week. In the middle of the high season the signs in the complete Gasteinertal will be pointing to art. Even whilst skiing the guests will encounter art works, for example the various snow and ice sculptures which simultaneously serve as guide signs to the exhibition down in the valley.
New artists and styles from the fields of painting, drawing and photography, new formats and actions as well as hilarious parties offer a colourful mixture all week long. Thereby the exhibition remains faithful to its roots and still presents art on snow. In aos the base of the ARt on Snow will still be the art exhibition inside the venerable walls of the former hotel L’Europe which is also the home of Bad Gastein’s casino.

The first Brandalism Takeover took place in July 2012. Two friends, sick of the visual pollution of their city, spent 5 days reclaiming 36 billboards in five cities around the UK. Overwhelmed by the positive response from people across the country, we decided to train up other people to do the same thing themselves. Two years later, groups across the country are now taking action in their local areas to reclaim public space from the claws of corporate interests.
Event: Art Car Boot Fair
Dates: 2 May 2012 - 4 May 2012
The Art Car Boot Fair is an original idea by Karen Ashton and has been developed by Karen and her sister Helen Hayward since our first event in 2004 in London. It was an idea that grew out of a desire to pick up where Joshua Compston’s ‘Fete Worse than Death’ and Gavin Turk’s ‘Livestock Market’ and Articultural Shows’ blazed a trail in the 90’s and to re-introduce some summer fun and frivolity into a thriving but increasingly commercial London art scene. We aim for the Art Car Boot Fair to be a day when the artists let their hair down and for all-comers to engage with art in a totally informal way, and to pick up some real art bargains to boot! Participation in the Art Car Boot Fair is by invitation and referral by original ‘booters’ only.

Biography
My journey began from a young age. I've been creating for as long as I can remember. Dipping in and out of different mediums, I settled on painting as my main form of expression in 2013. On my way here I studied Art and finished with a Fine Art degree. A few years later I decided to travel and see the world, working in Austra, Switzerland and Australia. This made me appreciate life and expand as both a person and Artist.
I've always loved the outdoors, and over the years noticed how it was something I couldn't live without. Running and exploring my local countryside made me feel alive. In 2017 yoga became a part of my life. First as a way to stay fit and injury free, but after, it became much more. It was a way for me to connect with the world, a way to live in the present moment.
Today I live in the south of Spain. I spend my mornings outside climbing or moving through the mountains. If the afternoon and evenings I paint. Using large brushes I put my energy to canvas, leaving a part of me and my experiences for all to see and feel. I build layer upon layer, slowly bringing forward strength and elegance in each portrait.
