Biography
I have worked with renown artists, and over time developed my own unique
style. I paint predominantly in oil and acrylic and use a combination of brush, pallet knife and sponge work to create depth, movement and texture. I am fascinated with light.
"Painting is an exciting process for me, a feeling of being on the edge and discovering what emerges in the process. I totally loose myself in this timeless space. It is my aim to bring this freedom and beauty through into my work to create an uplifting atmosphere in a space much like the experience I have in nature.
A few years ago my wife and children and I embarked on an epic adventure, and for a year we lived in the wildest parts of Southern Africa, traveling and living in forests, deserts, bushveld and caves. This experience reshaped our lives and deepened our appreciation for the wilderness. I have now been moved by the natural beauty of Dartmoor, the forests, steams and Moors where we now lives. This ancient landscape has stirred something deep inside of me.
"I would love to see the preservation and expansion of the worlds wild places".
Grant Notten has paintings in private collections in several countries around the world.
