About Gozde Temiz Istanbul

  • Biography

Hi, I am Gozde, an architect from Istanbul, Turkey. My artistic journey began professionally in San Jose, California in 2016. My art journey is a fusion of my architectural roots and my fervent connection to the world around me. It's a dance of elements – architectural, urban, and the poetry of everyday objects.

My process is a tapestry of memories and emotions. I begin by capturing the soul of a place through sketches and photographs. These fragments of experience are later woven into the canvas of my paintings. Each stroke is an inner journey, a voyage of understanding, observation, and city exploration, leaving an indelible mark on my work.

My chosen medium is a symphony of black-and-white ink wash and watercolor drawings. I draw inspiration from the traditional artistry of Japanese ink painting, embracing techniques like Sumi-e, Suiboku, and linocut. Black ink, like a shroud of mystery, enhances the drama and reveals hidden spirits within my creations, merging intricate details with the very essence of the subject.

The fruits of my artistic labor have graced the walls of The Down Gallery of Art and inspired many in the Bay Area through workshops from 2016 to 2017. Here, on my Artfinder page, you have the opportunity to own a piece of this transformative journey.

Indulge in the magic of my artwork, where each stroke whispers stories of the places I've known and the worlds I've uncovered...
