About Gillian Coates
Biography
I painted a little in my teens, and came back to oil painting when I was made redundant in 2002.
Having great success showing my pictures at a local show, getting the best in show award 4 out of 5 years, it spurred me on the expand my interest in painting.
I am now a member of 3 local art groups, being the secretary of Hetton Art.
I love painting animals and children, it gives me a great thrill to see the face starting to look back at me from the canvas.
I love the way, just as I finish one picture someone comes and asks if I can do one for them. It always keeps me busy.
