About Genya Gritchin

  • Biography
I am driven by classical art and I would love to follow in the footsteps of the beloved artists from the past like Veronese, Da Vinci, Andrea del Sarto. I like the idea of art which is based on canons of ideal forms or divine ideal proportions. I particularly like these forms of art such as David and Ingre. Artfinder is a wonderful opportunity to reach international audiences.

Genya received his masters degree in drawing and illustration from Surikov Academy of Arts, Moscow in 1992. His murals, portraiture and easel paintings are in private collections in USA, Italy, Russia and UK. His compositions are influenced by Italian Renaissance painters and Federico Fellini films which are bold, mysterious and baroque. He is inspired by the masters from the past and adapts their ideas which have been left for us as an endless source. His work is “out of time”, not belonging to any era and could be happening any time or any place.
