    Mustache love

I love mustaches, I love to draw them on my face, sometimes without even knowing during the painting process and sometimes just because ;) Making compositions in my studio with my favorite products, paper pieces, photos, is something I love. This time it was my photo that was used and I so much love the result.

    My most valuable friends

    My most valuable friends

My tools and my brushes are my most valuable friends. Working with them every single day, holding them and following the path they show to me to follow. You can see that they have been working hard but you can also see that at the end of the day I give them the care and attention they need in order to remain with me for many years to come. Many of them I have since I was a student of Graphic Design and Art back in the day. That makes them extra special to me. I know they are just objects and you would say objects have no soul. True, but they hold so many memories, so many brush strokes, so many journeys we took together on a canvas or piece of paper that are dear to me and means more than words can describe.

    Fresh air in the studio

    Fresh air in the studio

I never stop experimenting, trying new techniques, new material, new colors. It is in my nature and I simply need it and love it. I never wanted to work only with one medium, one style, one theme. I thought that not having one specific style and theme is bad. Until the day my mentor, a well-known painter in Amsterdam, told me to feel lucky I'm not imprisoned in one style and I am able to try new things, to choose new themes and to feel free to create anything I like depending on my mood and creative need. This has always been the way I work and I don't want to change that because it makes me happy and content. Recently I added to my list of material wood and artresin-liquid glass. I fell in love immediately. The luscious, luxurious and professional finish the resin gives made me love it and use it in many projects already. New and old, that got a new life.

    Before and after

    Before and after

Every morning the studio is crispy clean, everything is tidy and in place waiting for a new day to start and end up in the evening to a colorful chaos. Never getting tired tidying up and making a mess all over again 😊

    My passion and dream

    My passion and dream

I recently lost my day job, the one that brings home the bacon but keeps me from my biggest dream since I'm a child: being a full-time artist. I went through a creative block from the stress of what's next and from once again having the will and thirst to work even harder and pursue my dream. And while trying to break this creative blockage and feel free again just enjoying the creative process, these wonderful buildings appeared. Bold and strong looking at me and telling me: you have nothing to be afraid of. Yes, I do not fear. Because whatever is done with love it is done well. And if there is something I Know well is that I will keep painting and keep following my dream until the very end. Because that's simply what makes me happy.

    My creative process

    My creative process

The best word to describe my art process is: EXPERIMENTING. Acrylics, oils, markers, pencils, pastels, papers, canvas…all kinds of surfaces, materials, colors. The sky is the limit when it comes to creating. That’s what I love about art, there are so many choices, so many beautiful materials to use, depending on your mood and what you want to create. I am privileged enough to have a spare room that I have turned into my paradise and sanctuary, my tiny studio. Nothing matters anymore inside there, only creating, experimenting, having fun. There is no right or wrong, there are no mistakes. Only the joy and the journey of creativity.
