Following an artist residency programme in Fayoum Egypt, my photography was on show at the Soma Gallery in Cairo.
Biography
Fatima Mian is a self taught multi-disciplinary Artist based in London.
Fatima’s diverse creative experiences have formed her artistic practise over the years. She arrived at painting through her photography, which afforded her the opportunity to immerse herself into various environments. Throughout her travels with her camera she learned how to create abstractions from the environments she was in, which naturally progressed into the realm of painting. Through a lot of creative experimentation with the two mediums and exploring ways to tie them together, along with influences from her background in graphic design, Fatima’s art has also evolved into a form of digital art which culminates in her abstract prints.
In 2024 Fatima earned a spot in the Official Selection for the International Photography Awards. In 2023 Fatima Mian was awarded a spot as a finalist for the Visual Artist Association Professional Artist Award as well as being Longlisted in the Women United Art Prize. In 2020, she was Shortlisted for the Landscape Photographer of the Year award and was also a finalist in The Independent Photographers 'People' Award, featuring in their Talents of the Year Magazine.
