Biography
Eva Chen is a Taranaki-based realism fine art artist in New Zealand, specializing in oil painting. Her work focuses on still life and animal subjects, capturing the small, quiet moments of everyday life and transforming them into poetic artistic expressions. Characterized by soft tones and a delicate play of light and shadow, her paintings convey a sense of tranquility and warmth through the dialogue between nature and objects.
She graduated from the University of CTU in Taiwan with a Bachelor of Commercial Design in 2015. Shortly after, she left Taiwan and moved to Australia, where she spent six years, fell in love with her husband, and decided to stay.
In 2019, Eva discovered that art had always been her true passion, inspiring her to pursue it as a career. Since then, she has sold her original artworks to collectors around the world, including in the USA, Canada, and Europe. In 2022, she and her husband moved to New Zealand to settle permanently.
Eva feels incredibly fortunate to live her dream as an artist. She loves exploring different subjects and styles, continuously evolving her self-expression through her work. She hopes you enjoy her paintings as much as she enjoys creating them.
