BALTHAZART.UK presents Sea(e)scape:
From Sea to Shining Sea, you are invited to wander through the space at the time within the exhibition Sea(e)scape. Two talented photographers, Elisabeth Blanchet and Mandy Williams (http://www.mandywilliams.com), are exposing 3 series of their work « Beach », « Frame » and « Immerse », as we might on a trip abroad.
Elisabeth Blanchet and Mandy Williams
For Elisabeth Blanchet, the serie "Beach" brings back nostalgic memories of childhood.
"“Beach” is a series of over-exposed images of seaside resorts all over the world.(...) Beaches are unique in-between spaces where people expose themselves to the sun, the sea, the others. There are no barriers, just moments, sensations and emotions we all want to relive".
With the serie "Frame" Mandy Williams uses a technical leitmotiv to depict abstraction while "Immerse" brings us closer to her.
“Frame” is a series of 15 photographs. Many of projects involve photographing through windows or glass. "When I photograph people in this way the shots are always unrehearsed and surreptitious. In Frame, the scratched glass and intensity of the weather and light abstracted the figures creating borderline portraits."
“Immerse” represents "The sea close to where I once lived. A visceral response to the landscape, exploring place through emotion and memory."
