About Eilean Eland
Biography
I love to work in clay! I love the texture, the flexibility, the surprise when it comes out of the kiln! My hands feel empty if I can't work with them. I am inspired by the soft curves and turns of the female form and also of the way things grow in my garden and I am trying to find a way to express my responses, not forgetting that I am a woman and see the female form from inside rather than out. I live in North Devon overlooking the sea which has quite an influence on the colours, forms and rhythms of my sculpture.
