Biography
"Horses express Big energy - and that is what I paint."
Artist Donna B was born in NY, north of Manhattan. Her natural inclination for horses appeared at a young age; with great sensitivity and intuition she watched the horses she found in her rural area. In her imagination she now re-creates that vision, mixing medium and materials in unique and uncommon ways, often using no brushes to create inked horses. She drips and directs proprietary mixtures of acrylics, water-based inks and
pigments; on others, archival sprays and pastels.
Her personal artistic blend and signature clean, fresh style creates art that is modern in structure yet deeply intimate. With uncanny simplicity they evoke power and vulnerability; compassion, and forward movement.
Most recently she expanded into performance of her art, "Live Painting", as she creates original works at events/fundraisers using her uniquely evolved process. Most notably she painted at Ferdinand's Ball during Derby Week in Kentucky.
Largely self-taught Donna studied privately with international painter Robert Dash, contemporary abstractionist Christine Raymond, and modern metal sculpturist Sue Latta.
Her collectors say it best: "Your art inspires thought." "Your art draws me in for a much deeper experience; every time I look I see more." "Your art has it all - motion and emotion." "Your art is full of vitality, energy; on the inside moving out."
Donna's works are shown throughout the country and collected around the world. Her paintings complement their surroundings carrying an emotional atmosphere always in keeping with the client's aesthetic. Designer/developer and corporate inquiries are most welcome.
