Biography
Donk is a prolific anonymous street artist based in London, UK, who since 2008 has been pasting images onto the streets of London and beyond.
Originally a commercial photographer, Donk's initial process is photographic he then translates his images into strikingly graphic hand finished screen print editions.
Donk's art draws inspiration from storytelling, with a subject matter alluding to the process of growing up.
His images are
often inhabited by his family and friends and explore powerful themes such as
vulnerability, human strength, and the passage of time, appealing to our
collective senses and shared human experience. Donk remixes
elements of urban culture and history to create accessible artworks in
which he hopes to communicate “something sincere but ultimately
entertaining.” A further source of inspiration is his experience into
fatherhood, with his son as a familiar subject in his artwork.
