About Dmytro Filatov

I was born in the family of artist and I have been drawing since childhood. My whole life is an experience of art, from the first children's drawings to the present day, I never doubted who I should be.

The search for new means of expression of the art channel tunning through me, the search for the contact points between the spiritual and the secular. Searching for the most capacious and concise solution capable of revealing the theme of the world of art with possible expression and authorship for me, we can say that “search” is the key word for my art. I ask myself the question “Why?” And my paintings are the way to the answer. Each real picture is a portal to the world of our spiritual world, this is a revelation ... and I want my every work to be such a “window”. I like to think and talk about creativity. Art is my philosophy.

I couldn’t say I have some exact kind of artistic approach; I am an experimenter. From bright acrylic on canvas combined with enamel and a pronounced relief to sophisticated transparent watercolors. From abstract art to realism. I feel free in painting, graphics and watercolors. My only task is to create a “real picture”. I do not think about the benefits and do not work on order, no compromises. Now my favorite direction become an art on cardboard (KARTON). Its simple and unique texture, warm tone, combined with mascara and white spots of acrylic give me the opportunity to express many ideas precisely and clearly. Combining recognizable images with my ideas, I get the chance to achieve the desired result via this kind of media.

The whole life is the suffering of a grasshopper forgotten in a box by a cruel child. It occurred to me, but I do not have a permanent creed )
