About Di Capri

  • Biography

“At the age of six my parents bought me my first coloring book. The first drawings I made were posted on my bedroom walls as my first exhibition. One summer’s weekend, when my grandparents came to visit, they bought all of my exhibited paintings and I made my first $20, which I put into a small wooden box. I thought it would be fun to bury it in the backyard… I still can’t find it…”

Eran spent his childhood nourishing his love for art by applying his self-taught approach to drawing and photography. Pursuing art throughout his academic life, Eran applied his second love for photography into his artistic ventures. In his work, you can immediately notice that the foundation of his artwork originates from the relationship between art and photography. His paintings are based on his photography skill and love for realism.

“I wanted to try and create a link between the reality captured by the camera and the freedom I have on my blank canvas. I’m exploring how brushstrokes can stimulate feelings and emotions within a person, the different meanings each brushstroke has and the ability to create a certain response from the viewer.”

Today, Eran runs his own studio in London and works towards establishing his first Art Gallery.
