About Diane Barker

I am Diane Barker a freelance creative - Yorkshire Artist, Designer & Illustrator.

I love painting, drawing and designing. I've always wanted to make the world a little bit brighter by creating images that affect and influence people and that tell a story. I am a busy freelancer based in my West Yorkshire studio and am also represented by Pure Illustration who are always eager to introduce me to potential clients who are looking for a practical solution to an artistic challenge.

When painting I create my artwork mainly in gouache but I also love to use inks, water-colour, pencil and pencil crayon.

For the design side of my 'bow' I use Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and photography.

I think it's important to find a medium and approach which best suits the job. I work effectively to deadlines and happily take a job from concept to print-ready artwork (backed by 2 decades of practical experience). I enjoy successful relationships with clients and fellow professionals.
