    REALITY BITES!

I am always debating with the subject in my paintings! Two of my favorite subjects are the shell and the apple.

Happy and passionate when I work! Painting is the way I express myself.

I am working on a new series called "STORY OF A WOMAN". It is still part of the collection REALITY BITES. It is a homage to women and their role in society and the family. They are moms, therapists, beautiful, hard workers, cooks, doctors, and many times without needing a degree.

    ME AT WORK

I have been painting my whole life. When I was a child, my mom would gather all papers left blank from my old notebooks so I would have materials all the time. She could not keep up with me and my drawings. I started painting in oils when I was 11 years old. I tend to be very nostalgic and traditional, and I think my paintings are an expression of my childhood and the history of my hometown, Cartagena, Colombia. Cartagena, a port declared by Unesco as “Patrimony of Humanity,” has always been a city bursting with history and legend.

I love to add spirituality to my work. I will do it with writing, pictures, or symbols. Spirituality is my main ingredient and one of my main sources of inspiration.

This is my studio, where I work every day. It is small, but the light is perfect. I always try to plant flowers on my garden to have the color and freshness of nature close by. I also have violets on my window ledge, to bring a little bit of God's creation into my working space.
