A joint exhibition by two artists, both of whom take their inspiration from the world that surrounds them; Dee usually works in vibrant colour, Jacqui more often in Black and White hence the title.
Dee uses a wide range of inventive techniques to produce colourful textural paintings, collages and collagraphs inspired by rambles in the countryside and along the coast and seashore.
Jacqui playfully engages with scale producing a series of small works and large monotypes. A large exhibition including nearly 100 pieces of work
Biography
My aim is to create colourful and vibrant paintings and collages using a variety of media and materials. I try to achieve a balance between colour and texture rather than a realistic interpretation of subject matter. Collages tend more to complete abstraction and start without a pre-determined destination. The journey is a balance between letting things happen and making them happen, and taking advantage of unexpected results. I am greatly rewarded when others say that my artwork is emotionally uplifting. I exhibit in solo, two-person and group exhibitions and my artwork is in private collections in UK, Canada, France, Germany, Australia, Greece and Ireland.
