Biography
Hey you! I'm Dominique
Laurine, a '92 Dutch & internationally selling artist living in The Netherlands, specialized in fine art
with a focus on animal portraits, mainly horses, zebras and big cats. I have a
big adoration for animals, especially creatures that are 'different', like an
animal with a special coloured coat. Horses with rare patterns, the wonderful variation
in zebra species and the flamboyant yet mysterious appearances of big cats: 'I like
you being different' is definitely my art motto. It is what makes us all unique,
being your complete self.
WATERCOLOUR
All my artworks are known
for their anatomical correctness and made with synthetic brushes only, as well working with the most high-quality paper & watercolour; a
medium I was naturally drawn to since I started painting on a professional
level. According to art experts, watercolour is the most tricky medium to work
with since water does whatever it wants. But hey, I'm Dutch: we know how to
control water;) With this medium I love to reach a soft and transparent yet clean
style. My artworks are modern and bold, but also timeless: I always go for the natural
look of the animal combined with a minimalistic and white background: it
