About Davide Foletti

  • Biography
Davide Foletti, a Bolognese artist, has emerged in the contemporary art scene thanks to his innovative interpretation of metal as an expressive medium. His technical skill in working metal, a material usually perceived as cold and inert, combines with his ability to infuse emotion and concept, giving rise to works of extraordinary visual and symbolic power.
Davide Foletti is not only an artist, but a real craftsman of the matter. Its metal sculptures are distinguished by the ability to transform metal into fluid and dynamic forms, almost to counteract the natural rigidity of the material. Each of his works is a careful reflection on the contrast between solidity and lightness, between the hardness of metal and the intensity of human emotions that they represent. His works evoke a sensation of movement, as if the metal itself were animated by an invisible force that shapes it, bends and transforms it.
What strikes most of his sculptures is the ability to transmit universal emotions through a powerful but delicate visual language. Whether it is to represent the intensity of passion, the fragility of tears or deep reflection on human thought, each creation is an emotional journey that speaks to the observer. His sculptures, although static in form, seem to move through time, as if they want to suggest that every moment, every emotion, is constantly evolving. Works such as "Passion", "Tear" and "Thought" are perfect examples of how the artist manages to transform metal into a medium for exploring deep and complex themes. The material, far from being rigid or detached, becomes a means of reflecting on the human condition: on the struggle between desire and control, on vulnerability and the strength of emotions.
The approach of Davide Foletti to sculpture is that of an artisan (as he himself calls himself..a simple craftsman) who, with extreme skill, works metal to give it a new life. The choice of metal is not random: this material, resistant and durable, becomes a symbol of human emotions, which, even in their change, leave indelible marks. The attention to detail, precision in shapes and refinement in surface treatments are the signature of his work. Every fold, every curve of his sculptures is designed to give a sense of movement and lightness, as if the metal was ready to take flight.
