About Damian Gerard Bland

There are a million reasons why artists paint; to be happy, to escape to a better world, to express some deep inner desire, but maybe it's also because we are made that way - it's what we do, we can't help it. To be in the creative flow is to be beyond time and space, in a realm of creative fire where you are forever young. The desire to paint is a way of trying to share that experience with someone else. That's why I paint; that's why I am always studying the great artists, always striving to improve the way I see and express that for others. I paint because I love nature and want to create something beautiful that will speak to someone else. For me, to paint is to say,"Look at this tree, this sky, this person's face, isn't it amazing?"

Damian worked as an animator in his youth and has always loved all aspects of painting. He has recently started to paint the landscapes of his local area in Yorkshire.
