About Dale Stryker

  • Biography
I love to paint the light and atmosphere in nature. I joined several Plein Aire painting groups across the country form Palm Beach to San Diego to capture the beauty of nature. My favorite artist, Cezanne, influenced my first paintings. Working with planes of color, I strive to create strong contrasts and often push the temperature of color to enhance the scene. Many of my images are inspired by my travels, some starting on location and finished in my studio.I like painting figures and animals as much as outdoor scenes so often depict life through the enjoyment of nature! My love of Art started early in life... by the age of 10 I was painted tiles and selling them as Hotplates. I studies Art in college and found my career as an art teacher. I taught everything from beginning art to college level portfolio in several high schools in the Miami-Dade Public Schools. All through the 31 years that I taught, I joined art organizations, painted and showed my work in a few gallery and sidewalk shows. It wasn't until I retired that I finally followed my passion to paint as a full-time artist. I became a member of the BocaRaton Artist Guild, Delray Art League, Miami Art League, Palm Beach Plein Air, and Women in the Visual Arts. I shave showed and sold my work in galleries Miami, Delray Beach, art shows a variety of venues and the Cornell Museum of Art.
