About Clara Wilkinson

  • Biography
I’m a painter who grew up in South London before relocating to Brighton in 2017. I studied at Central St. Martins and the London Guildhall.
My work is inspired by nature in particular the landscapes of Andalucia, Exmoor and the South Downs where I live, but my paintings are also about memory, feelings and the passing of time.
I like painting outdoors making studies in watercolour or with a single pen on paper, before returning to the studio where I work on a larger scale using oil paint on stretched canvas, linen or large sheets of paper.

I take commissions for paintings, sell limited edition giclee prints and I exhibit regularly in Brighton as part of Artists Open House and in London with the Portobello Gallery and the Affordable Art Fair.  In 2023 I was shortlisted for the women in Art prize and my paintings are now in collections throughout the UK, Europe and the USA.
