Born in Greece, I had an
instant connection with paints as a young child. I fouhnd comfort
and inspiration in the encouragement I received form my first
grade school teacher. A few years later, my artistic ambitions were
intensified with a visit to art-rich Athens. Seeing the museum, the
Parthenon, and the sculptures of the Hellenic masters, etc., a series
of connections were made in my mind, and I desired to take up oil
painting to join the artistic tradition. My work found much praise,
and I received several scholarships for an artistic education, but
they were never exercised.
Art for me is doing what I came into this world to do. Ever since I was little I loved to draw and paint. When I realized I had a talent for it and people loved my work, I decided to pursue it. It was become my way of expressing my feelings as well as my outlook on life.
