About Cathy Immordino

Cathy Immordino is a Los Angeles-based photographer. Drawing on fine art and photojournalism techniques, Immordino creates optical layering to serve as an allegory for the complex narratives of life and memory. Immordino began her photography career after years of being an actress, a set of experiences she documented, along with nightlife photography. In subsequent projects, she has continued to refine and evolve this fundamental structure of literally layering her own stories and observations against backdrops of iconic spaces. In this way Immordino collapses both time and space in a language made of art history, biographical reportage, and photographic technology.
