About Ekaterina Arkhangelskaia
Biography
My name is Ekaterina and I am an artist and botanical illustrator from Ekaterinburg, Ural region of Russia.
I paint mainly by watercolor on paper. For many years I have been working as a radio engineer, but in 2012 I made my childhood dream come true and started working as an illustrator and watercolor artist. Now I can't live a day without drawing.
My main passion is flowers and wild plants, it was interesting for me from my childhood when books about plants were my lovely reading. Despite living in big megapolis I anyway try to spend a lot of time in nature, even if it is a tiny park nearby or a waste-ground on the edge of town - anyway I find beauty and inspiration. Contemplation of plants, trees, exploring of new and unknown for me gives me incomparable joy.
Every summer I make hundreds and thousands of photos for having the possibility to paint my lovely summer objects on long and cold winter days.
I am a member of the Association of Russian botanical artists (SABA) since 2019 and regularly take part in their exhibitions.
