About Cally Conway

  • Biography
My work is inspired by a love of the natural world, and an interest in folklore and fairy tales. The flora and fauna of the English countryside is a reoccurring theme and I like to draw creatures well known in the landscape and part of English folklore.
The process of drawing is important to me, all prints start life as hand drawn imagery in my sketchbook, which are then developed into one of any number of print processes. I work from my studio table at home, all work being printed by hand. There is something of the nature of Printmaking that I still find addictive; the anticipation of never quite knowing exactly what the image will be is why I am passionate about this process.
