About Bruno Di Pietro

  • Biography
Bruno Di Pietro is an eclectic contemporary Italian painter. In more than 50 years of career and more than 4000 works spread across Italy, Europe, the United States and China, he has cataloged 7 different periods between painting and sculpture. Currently, the 7th period defined as "Borders" deals with a revisitation and expansion of some works of the 2nd period depicting abstract and surreal trees. The new theme is very much aimed at the concept of conservation and defense of nature and in some cases the denunciation against pollution and climate changes caused by man such as oil spills into the oceans or the fires that strike the forests every year. Another theme that is very close to his heart is the recycling of materials where in the 4th period, through sculptures it is highly expressed using recycled parts of engines, cups and anything else he could find. Even in the 7th period we can find traces of recycling in which instead of canvas, to create the works, he uses aluminum panels, paper, PVC sheets, etc. collected from industrial waste.
In all his periods the technique used has always distinguished him from other painters and even today his tireless search for materials and new painting techniques is not lacking.
